The meeting of the Working Group of the City of Radom organized within the project LIFE14CCA / PL / 000101 ‘Adapting to climate change through sustainable management of water in urban areas in Radom’ on 1 February 2017.
The invited guests and the participants were welcomed by Katarzyna Jankowska, the Project Coordinator representing the City Hall in Radom and Jerzy Zawodnik – the Deputy Mayor of the City of Radom and Project Director. Then, the following presentations were delivered by:
- M.Sc. Lech Gawuć on the thermal conditions in Radom determined by the use of satellite data and measurements of air temperature on non-urban areas,
- M.Sc. Bartosz Latoszek in terms of the exposure of the area of the city of Radom to flooding – now and in the perspective of 2050,
- Dr. Eng. Marzena Osuch on the assessment of the exposure of the urban space of Radom on climate change,
- Dr. Iwona Wagner on the data to the vulnerability assessment of the city to climate change.
The meeting was also attended by the guests from Malta and Italy, representing the project LifeMedGreenRoofProject, – Mr. Antoine Gatt, Mr. Alberto Tosca and Mr. Massimo Valagusa. Antoine Gatt provided information about Malta as well as the project objectives and results. The guests were presented to the Deputy Mayor Jerzy Zawodnik who presented him with the gift and directed an invitation to the conference closing the project in July, 2017.
In response to the needs of the office units concerning an analysis of the Danish solutions in the field of blue and green infrastructure, Jerzy G. Frączek – the Project Director of RadomKlima in the Municipal Water Works in Radom presented pictures from a study visit of the representatives of the project in Denmark in September, 2016.
