On 6 -7 March 2019 Mr. Bernd Decker-Senior Project Adviser in LIFE Climate Action EU EASME associated by Mr. Mirosław Gwiazdowicz- External Monitor from NEEMO stayed in Radom while the monitoring visit concerning the LIFE14 CCA/PL/000101 project.
The guests were greeted by the Deputy Mayor of the city of Radom – Mr. Jerzy Zawodnik and representatives of the project co-beneficiaries. First day they visited places where adaptation measures have already been taken or are still to be made, including: green stops on Struga street; clima-pond on the area of the Public Kindergarten No 16; the Borki reservoir and the colmatation ponds; weather station at Sucha street; channel A0; location of planned polder flood plain at Cerekwianka stream, retention reservoir at Północny Stream, restoration of Mleczna river on the urban boulevards.
The second day was devoted to the presentation by the associated beneficiaries the project achievements and plans, access to technical and financial documentation, discussion on the Monitors' remarks and reflection from the visit. The two-day meeting was very intense, but also very efficient and in accordance with the opinion of Mr. Decker, informative and pleasantly surprising.
