Zakończony i funkcjonujący już polder zalewowy na rzece Cerekwianka (pomiędzy ul. NSZZ Solidarności a ul. Ceramiczną) ma za zadanie przechwytywać wody w okresach zwiększonych opadów, aby chronić przed zalewaniem tereny położone u zbiegu rzek Cerekwianki i Mlecznej. Początek lutego br. był okresem mokrym, obfitującym w opad, dzięki czemu mogliśmy obserwować, jak zbiornik funkcjonuje przy zwiększonych przepływach. Obecnie w głównym korycie Cerekwianki wody nie ma za wiele, ale polder zretencjonował nadmiar z początku lutego br. i powoli oddaje wodę do otoczenia poprzez parowanie i odpływ do koryta Cerekwianki. W okresie letnim ta retencja poprawi lokalny mikroklimat, zwiększając wilgotność otoczenia i łagodząc letnie upały.

On March 26, 2022 from 15:00 p.m. at the Municipal Cultural Center “Amfiteatr” at Śniadeckich Street 2, an event “Compost, its inhabitants and the bomb - composting workshops” will be organized by the above Centre together with the Department of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and the Department EU Funds of the City Hall in Radom.

As part of the project LIFE14 CCA / PL / 000101, following the process of planting trees and shrubs in the city of Radom, which started last year, we are continuing the action this year. We have planned to plant 463 trees in total. 133 trees and 141 shrubs will be planted by Radom Municipal Services Company in Radom educational institutions (kindergartens, primary and secondary schools), 50 trees will be added to Kościuszko Park and the area of ​​Radom Housing Cooperative. In addition, 280 large rooted seedlings will be given to the residents of Radom during various information and promotional events of the LIFE project to plant "in their backyards", at the same time encouraging the residents of Radom to support this action on their own and to plant as many trees as possible on their properties.

In the period of 25 – 30 of November 2021, in 15 public educational institutions in Radom, there have been implemented plantings of 50 trees of the species: sycamore maple, common maple, horse chestnut, mountain ash and single-necked hawthorn and 50 pieces of shrubs in five popular species. They were purchased as part of the LIFE project. The planting and staked of trees was carried out by the Municipal Services Department in Radom.

At the end of April this year, the main hydrotechnical works on the Borki reservoir and the colmatation ponds carried out by the LIFE project are to be finalised. In May this year, the reservoir will be filled with water and then tests will be carried out to verify the correct functioning of the used solutions. On holiday, residents of Radom will already be able to use the reservoir recreationally and to take advantage of the accompanying walking-bicycle infrastructure and new piers, made outside the LIFE project. Thanks to such a comprehensive approach, a multifunctional facility will be created to serve the inhabitants of the city.

In 2021, investment works are continued as part of adaptation measures on Radom river systems within the LIFERADOMKLIMA-PL project.
